  • Indonesia changed its capital from Jakarta to Nusantara globe icon on August 17, 2024. Construction of the new city is in 5 phases, scheduled to be completed by 2045. The first cabinet meeting was held in Nusantara on August 12, 2024.
  • Kazakhstan changed the name of its capital from Astana to Nur-Sultan in March 2019. In September 2022, the name was changed back to Astana globe icon .
  • The official capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte globe icon, which is a suburb of the commercial capital and largest city, Colombo. Colombo was the capital before it was moved to Kotte.
