  • Kazakhstan changed the name of its capital from Astana to Nur-Sultan globe icon in March 2019.
  • The official capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte globe icon, which is a suburb of the commercial capital and largest city, Colombo. Colombo was the capital before it was moved to Kotte.
