  • In the Netherlands globe icon, the Hague is the seat of government and home to the parliament, the Supreme Court, and the Council of State. However, as stated in the constitution, Amsterdam is the official capital city.
  • On February 12, 2019, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) officially became the Republic of North Macedonia globe icon, settling the nearly 30 year long dispute with Greece over the name Macedonia.
  • Kosovo globe icon declared independence from Serbia globe icon on 17 February 2008. Serbia still considers Kosovo to be one of its regions, and Kosovo is still not recognized by many countries in the world.
