The Middle East (West Asia) is not a continent. It is a loosely defined region with no clear boundaries. Some definitions of it include parts of Northern Africa.
Armenia and Azerbaijan have long been associated with the Middle East but some sources now consider them part of Europe based on their economic and political trends. This, of course, would be based on political and economic definitions, not on a physical definition.

Kazakhstan is part of Asia but not generally considered part of the Middle East.
